Questions
How fast does a TLDR arrive?
Usually within hours of an episode being released β we start transcribing as soon as it shows up in the feed, and email you the moment the summary is ready.
Which podcasts can I subscribe to?
Anything in the Apple Podcasts directory. Search for a show by name and add it β we pick up every new episode from there.
Do I need to install an app?
No. TLDRs arrive by email, and you can read them all on your dashboard.
Is it really free?
Your first podcast is free forever β no credit card, no trial clock. Paid plans just raise the number of shows you can follow, and you can cancel anytime.
How are the summaries written?
Each episode is transcribed, then summarized by AI from that transcript. They're good, but they're a distillation β every TLDR links to the full episode if you want to hear it.
Do I get TLDRs of old episodes?
No β PodTLDR.fm is for keeping up, not catching up. When you add a show we summarize its latest episode, then every new one from there. The back catalog is left alone.
Can I add a paid or private podcast?
Yes. Paste the private RSS link from your paid subscription (Patreon, Supercast, Memberful, and the like) under βAdd a custom RSS feedβ. We treat it like any other show.
Will I get one email per episode?
No β episodes are batched into a single digest, so a busy week across several shows is still one email. You'll never be sent the same episode twice.
What if I follow a show that posts a four-hour episode?
Most long episodes are fine β that's rather the point. We do skip anything over four hours, which in practice means the odd marathon livestream rather than a normal show.
Can I swap podcasts later?
Any time. Remove a show and add another; your plan just caps how many you follow at once. If you downgrade, the shows you added first stay active up to your new limit.
What does it cost?
One podcast is free forever. $15/mo follows up to 5 shows, $50/mo up to 25. Cancel whenever β billing is handled by Stripe and you can manage it yourself from the dashboard.
Bring a friend, follow another show
Every account gets an invite link. When someone signs up through yours and goes to a paid plan, you get +1 podcast a month β on top of whatever your plan already includes. Refer five payers, follow five more shows.
The bonus lasts as long as they do: if a referral cancels, that slot comes back off. Free signups don't count until they upgrade.
